The lines are from the poem, 'Slow Dance' by David L Weatherford who sadly died last year. You may recognise the verse from a hoax email that did the rounds a while back; attributing authorship to a 6 year old cancer sufferer. I can assure you this is certainly fake... a student of mine used this poem to create a visual piece of work that was so good I got in contact with Mr Weatherford's brother in the USA. They used my students video in a high school reunion as part of a tribute to David and kindly sent us two beautifully printed copies of the poem. When word's are as powerful as this, you don't need a lie to help their message.
I chose them to go with this pencil illustration because they remind me of our recent holiday to England. We had so much to do and so many wonderful people to see in such a short time that we were often rushed. Looking back though, the journey to each place was as memorable as the time spent there. I savour every minute I spend with my girls.

Your little kid is so cute! have fun with Christmas :)
really love this one, so sorry i missed your post!
Oh how I know that time moves by so quickly. One day your wiping a runny nose next your handing over the car keys and waving good-bye. We rob ourselves when we don't stop and breath in the day, fully engaged, and when we think 'theres always tomorrow' to make time for the important stuff.
Love the movement in your sketch.
