Illustration Friday: Burning

Although I left England to live in Australia, this is not autobiographical (well not much)
I do however believe strongly in Karma. Having studied theology and philosophy for 10 years or so, Karma is the only principle that really resonated with me -not through any ideological religious reason but simply because I know that if I do good; I feel good and if I do bad; I feel bad. So to me it makes sense (and is also the message of Christ, Muhammad, The Gurus and most of what we now call 'pagan' beliefs if you strip away the man-made BS)

Nice idea and so true. I like the way you think. I've just been snooping back through your blog and had to giggle at your "immovable' illustration of your daughter watching 'In The Night Garden' which has just become a very familiar scenario at our place.

I couldn't agree more. That is something I tried to instill in my kids, to treat others as they wish to be treated, regardless of how those others are treating you.

True indeed! Good idea for this week's theme.

Hey Al,

Glad to be back following your site, love the new illustration and poem ... keep up the good work
Michael.
P.S Read somewhere (think in a C Hitchens book) that the golden rule "Do unto others ..." is found in six or seven documented works before Christ ... shows how a good idea and ideal can occur to so many true visionaries ...

Oh and Hannah, In the Night Garden is slowly beginning to rot my mind I think... I found myself watching it the other day and my daughter was playing in her room! My wife and I call it 'The Alien Show'

Nice take on the "Burning" theme! Anyone that can make a "Bill and Ted" reference is OK in my book!
